PayServ Systems Inc. Locates Hot Site Recovery Area at Indiana Data Center to Assure Business Continuity

Officials from PayServ Systems Inc., an Angola, Ind., payroll systems and office services company, and Indiana Data Center (INDDC) in Fort Wayne, today announced PayServ’s decision to protect its critical customer data and assure business continuity by locating a remote “hot site recovery area” at INDDC’s West Coliseum Blvd. facility.  In the event of a fire or other event that could interrupt PayServ’s business, key employees can quickly relocate to Fort Wayne and, using data backed up at INDDC, resume full operation within a couple of hours.

INDDC regularly backs up PayServ’s sensitive customer data and stores it in equipment inside its secure, reinforced concrete bunker.  The hot site replicates a portion of PayServ’s Angola office and production facility, including workstations with full connectivity to the phone and Internet services PayServ currently uses.

According to Todd Saylor, PayServ’s founder and president, “At PayServ we are committed to, and very diligent about, security and the need for systems redundancy.  This dedication, and the demands of our nationwide growth, has led us to make sound and very conservative decisions about system back-up and recovery.  Similarly, we are very pleased with the commitment Indiana Data Center has voiced, including our ‘commitment-to-excellence approach’ with all of the recovery plans they offer.  INDDC is our overwhelming choice for today and is postured to handle our continuing national growth over the next five years.”

Stan Adams, founder and owner of Indiana Data Center, said, “We are thrilled to have PayServ place its trust in our ability to provide it with an immediate answer to its business continuity needs.  Their decision to create a remote center of operations to ensure they can continue business shows foresight and an understanding of the importance of reliable and continued service to their customers.

“When we built the Data Center in 2001, we dedicated more than 6,000 Sq. Ft. of space for utilization by our hot site clients,” Adams noted.  “A disruption in business can happen in many forms – from fire to natural disaster.  We can help any size company assure it will continue operations and remain in business,” he concluded.
